Research says that the average dress size for UK women is now a 16. Research also shows that in 1958 a size 16 would have a 28 inch waist and a 37 inch bust, today those figures are 33 inches and 41. But we all know the numbers mean nothing, they vary from shop to shop and we never know WHAT we are. Wedding Dresses are the same, which is why we never speak in ‘size’, we speak in ‘fit’.
Over the last 12 months, we made a conscious decision to review our collection by size, and when the time came to choose new dresses we ordered 16’s, 18’s, 20’s, 22’s to ensure our sample dresses are a good fit, for all our brides.
We cannot believe that we have been at 169 for ONE WHOLE year today. The time has flown by so fast.

The venue styling side of The Wedding Room has really taken off, with sustainability and recycling on our minds, it makes perfect sense to hire styling equipment. You have the option of collecting from us to set up yourself, or we can provide a set up service - find out more at @thestylingroom

Did you know that November 25th 2023 is small business Saturday. As a small business in a lovely community, we have decided to open our doors and show you what were all about.
Since relocating to 169 High Road, we have expended our services. Alongside our collection of wedding dresses from Lillian West, Justin Alexander, Modeca and Casablanca, we have grown our venue styling service. We have a dedicated room displaying all the items we have available to hire to create the perfect vibe for your wedding venue.
We are also lucky enough to now have The Flower Room ‘in house’. This year alone we have already supplied 22 brides with their wedding flowers, from buttonholes and bouquets to centrepieces and swings. Whatever your vision, we will work with you to bring it to life.
The Wedding Room can also dress your bridesmaids. Our gorgeous collection of bridesmaids dresses by TH&TH have been a big success. The dresses have been selected to consider all brides tastes and body shapes, with samples from a 10 to a 28. Visit The Bridesmaids Room to find out more.
